It’s Official, Supervisor Federal Glover Running for Re-Election

On Wedenday, Supervisor Federal Glover became the first candidate in the District 5 race to file his candidate paperwork and become a “qualified” candidate.

Last year, Supervisor Glover had successful heart and kidney transplant and says he is now feeling healthy and more resolved than ever to continue his work on the Board of Supervisors.

Federal-Glover-Jim-FrazierJust this week, Supervisor Glover saw one of his long-time projects that he and many others worked to achieve be completed, which was the Highway 4 / I-160 Connector on the Antioch and Oakley border. Glover told the crowd that he was speechless because it was 21-years in the making to help improve the lives of those in East Contra Costa County.

Glover says many of his accomplishments include bringing $1 billion in freeway widening to Highway 4, road repairs, BART, and Transportation improvements to the area.

He remains focused on supporting youth and keeping children away from gang violence. Meanwhile, they passed the areas first law to allow them to clean up vacant and poorly kept up rental properties. while creating strong Urban Limit Line to control sprawl and protect open spaces.

Although Federal Glover is the only qualified candidate at this time, candidates have until March 11 to file their paperwork.  Locally, here are some of Supervisor Glovers endorsements:

I like Federal, but its time for him to retire. C’mon Federal, its time to leave. Gayle Ulkema had the same issue, she couldn’t let go and contributed to the paralysis of our county. We need fresh ideas and new blood.

It looks like an ad for him. This is a blog comment for him, I think Federal Glover should be supported. The only concern is his health. If he feels he is in good enough health for the next term he should go for it.

Remember people, he took the lead at possible revenue making idea of a prison located across from Kaiser on Deer Valley. But better heads that day prevailed. Besides our State congress, Is he also behind the rise of parole businesses and release of inmates to our neighborhoods?
