Homicide Update: Police Still Searching for San Mateo Murder Suspect

by ECT

As of November 29 at 8:45 am, San Mateo Detectives worked throughout the night, and today continue their dogged pursuit of the suspect, who is still at large. SMPD takes Domestic Violence very personally, and our personnel are committed to bringing Anthony Kirincic to Justice.

November 28th, 7:00 pm
The suspect in this case is still at large, and SMPD personnel are utilizing all available resources to apprehend him. The suspect in this case is:
Anthony Kirincic
A 22 year-old male with several associated addresses in San Mateo County
A photo of Kirincic  is attached courtesy of the SM Co Sheriffs Office. Anyone with information on Kirincic’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact SMPD at 650-522-7700 and ask for Sergeant Teixeira.
During the search for the suspect, SMPD coordinated with San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office to search a building adjacent to the vehicle abandoned by the suspect in San Carlos, and with BART Police as well as SFPD’s Airport Bureau as we continued to pursue leads throughout the Bay Area. SMPD can also confirm that the victim herself made the original call to police immediately following this horrific crime.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
At about noon on Saturday November 28, SMPD officers responded to the 1500 block of S. B. Street on a reported stabbing. The victim, a 34 year-old female, was located critically injured inside her home with visible stab wounds. Officers and SMFD paramedics performed immediate lifesaving efforts, but the victim died at the scene. The victim’s boyfriend, a 22 year-old Male, was identified as the suspect. The suspect was gone from the scene at the time of SMPD arrival, and is believed to no longer be in the immediate area of the crime.
SMPD immediately set upon the task of locating the suspect, and were advised that the suspect’s vehicle was located unoccupied in a parking structure in the area of Holly St. and Industrial Ave. in San Carlos. SMPD is working with the Sheriff’s Office on the search related to the suspect vehicle in San Carlos. Meanwhile, additional SMPD teams remain on B Street to investigate the crime scene, and are coordinating additional efforts to attempt to locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing, and SMPD resources are dedicated to locating and arresting the suspect in this case.
At this point, this appears to be another tragic example of the level to which Domestic Violence can escalate, and an unfortunate reason why SMPD has special resources dedicated to domestic violence prevention, victim-centered services, and the apprehension and prosecution of suspects involved in domestic violence related crimes.
