Home Saved During Three Acre Vegetation Fire on Bethel Island

by ECT

At 3:35 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire on Bethel Island off Gateway Road which burned just under three-acres.

While en route to the fire, Engine 93 called a full vegetation response after smoke became dark black in an effort to ensure engines were close as a precaution.

Upon arrival to Morrison Ranch Road, BC5 stated the fire was threatening a home and the fire was just over 2 acres and began structure protection.  Firefighters quickly mobilized as units arrived and went offensive limiting the blaze to just under 3 acres.

Engines 93, 52, 94, 59 all responded and crews were on scene for just over 3-hours.

Nice pictures. Who tweaked the front bumper on that engine ? I do not see any houses in the photos. It looks like the heading of the article may be stretched a bit. Good job. I don’t see Cal Fire so kudos to the firefighters.
