Gubernatorial Candidate John Cox Demonstrates Republican Field-Leading Fundraising

by ECT

California — Businessman and California Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox has raised over $204,000 from over 1,500 individual donors in the last 45 days in addition to a $3 million contribution from himself.

“I’m irrevocably committed to this race,” Cox said. “19 states have recently elected Republican business people to governorships, even dark blue states like Maryland and Massachusetts – I believe we can do that here. I’m in it to win, and that has been resonating with people throughout California.”

Republican U.S. Senate candidates in 2016 struggled to raise around $200,000 throughout their campaigns, whereas Cox has done so within the last 45 days.

In contrast to Cox’s strong fundraising numbers, Republican Assemblyman Travis Allen has in total only raised money from 1,108 donors (primarily special interests) since first running for office in 2012. Furthermore, former Republican Assemblyman David Hadley announced that his campaign’s best-case-scenario fundraising goal was to raise $1,000 from 2017 people, which would equate to $2.17 million, which is a million less than Cox has raised to date and a quantity of donors Cox will surpass in the upcoming weeks. “Californians are tired of the status-quo in Sacramento and want honest change,” Cox said. “I’m the only candidate in the race for governor that isn’t a politician and that actually has a real plan to break the special interest money hold on our state capitol and return it to the people.”

The final quarterly report will be made public within one to two weeks.

Hadley is the candidate that can win.
Cox lacks the CA experience (he’s from Illinois) and Allen is far too right-wing to win in CA.

When will politicians come forth and just admit government in the US is just another company/corporation. Blue red republican democrat is all irrelevant. Only delusional old folks think their vote actually counts. The rich get richer off our labor, and yet the hardest working folks uphold this current system like it benefits them only because they’re not on the street begging. If you’re on ECT you’re a part of proletariat, these politicians don’t give a damn about you. $$$$$$

Ahhhh, Dmitri! Proletariat? Should we now stand up and sing “The International?” Most people have no idea what the “proletariat” is or was. They were peasants who left the farms and headed for the cities to take jobs in the new industrial revolution. Some of them actually joined groups whose goal was to assassinate the Tsar. They succeeded with Alexander II … the Tsar Liberator who ended serfdom … which was started by Catherine II..aka, The Great! By the way, I am getting richer from MY labor.

Yet you’re commenting on ECT so you’re not rich. Many people don’t know what it is but they are it. Living paycheck to paycheck, while elected officials get to go on vacations on government funding, CEO’s make 100x what a worker does, trillions into war and prisons while our infrastructure crumbles, white collar criminals immune to the law. What better example of money in politics than electing a celebrity as commander in chief. But of course, let’s hear the outdated rhetoric of the Protestant work ethic and pulling yourself up by the bootstraps….

Dmitri, how does my commenting anywhere give the indication of my financial status. Your post makes absolutely no sense. I can comment anywhere I wish. Where does it say I live in East County? Ever hear of people owning properties in one area but living in another? I guess that never occurred to you.

I think you need to get back on your meds, Dima!

Lola nailed it. Your mind is clearly a mess Dmitri, hopefully your body makes up for it. Care to wrestle some time? Brad said it is ok, but he wants to watch….

Dmitri ……… If people obeyed our laws, we would not need so many prisons and that money could go to repair the infrastructure. By the way, we have already more than paid for our roads to be improved. For decades and decades, we have purchased gas and had it taxed to smitherines in order to raise money for road construction. Where all that money go? Now, Moonbeam wants us to pay MORE for what we already paid for!

Our country has 25% of the worlds prison population. Our country is not concerned about rehabilitation but purely punitive. Poverty is the cause of crime, get rid of poverty, get rid of prisons. European countries figured this out, but they also have higher taxes and less billionaires/millionaires than us. And yes I understand you can live in more than one place… Plus, we used to have a more advanced rail system in the early 20th century but corporate evil GM ruined it for roads, cars, and rubber. American politics is ran by corporations not by ideals. That’s why adults have to “grow up” and subscribe to the rat race and become cold hearted and competitive; thinking their bread crumbs define them like your previous comment.

Lola Saavedra Jul 9, 2017 - 5:22 pm

Dmitri, one gets rid of poverty by GETTING A JOB and STICKING WITH IT…. We will get rid of prisons WHEN those who occupy them LEARN TO RESPECT OUR LAWS! Competition is good! Without competition, we would still all live in caves and be scavengers for food.

Maybe our society can function better if parents teach their children to be more responsible and respectful so they grow up to become better adults!

There are tons of prisons in Europe! Their prisoners stay there much longer than our’s do here in the States.

Having millionaires and billionaires is GREAT! Russia today has at least 111 multi-BILLIONAIRES! We need more of them here. They fuel our economy and create JOBS which people can apply for an get themselves out of poverty and people also need to learn to PLAN.

Advancement in personal transportation (cars) is a blessing and makes life much easier and brings us FREEDOM.

Dmitri Jul 9, 2017 - 9:31 pm

Ahhh Russia and China yes, two authoritarian countries let’s praise them. And no, wealth does not always equal job creation. Many get rich by automating the work force and that’s what’s happening now. In the coming decades the work force will look a lot different, and the income gap will only get larger. But of course capitlism wants that. Productivity has increased but wages have stagnated. You don’t understand that there’s enough money to eradicate poverty, war, hunger but it doesn’t line the pockets of the rich. There’s a reason why organizations are “non-profit”. You’re stuck in the 50’s mindset that all this is necessary when it’s not. Like Nestle selling formula in 3rd world countries, capitalists exploit anyone for profit. Even the car example went over your head.

Dawn Jul 11, 2017 - 3:30 pm

I love rich people! The richer they are, the better and the more I like them! If you want to eradicate poverty, get a job with a wealthy person and prove yourself to be a valuable employee. You will get far. On the other hand, if you’re lazy and want a handout, you’ll never make it. The person I will hire is not the one who asks me, “How much vacation time will I get each year?” but the one who asks, “How many hours can I work and how many new tasks can I be assigned?”

Dmitri Jul 12, 2017 - 8:48 pm

Life is more than what you do for money Dawn. On your deathbed you won’t think about how much you made, you’ll think of memories that made you feel alive. For every success story there’s thousands of failures, stop looking at Bill Gates or Elon Musk as if anyone can do what they did. Here’s a question- what about volunteers? The ones who work millions of free labor, are they of less value than the rich?

Lola Saavedra Jul 11, 2017 - 4:00 pm

Dmitri, I was born in 1990, so how can I have a 50’s mindset? So you think poverty can be eradicated how? The ONLY way that can be done is through WORK.
