G&S Farms of Brentwood has announced that its first annual U-Pick Pumpkin Patch will open this weekend.
The community is invited to bring your family and friends to hand pick your favorite pumpkins right out of the field! Pumpkins of all sizes of classic orange pumpkins that are perfect for carving, making pies, or decorating your home this holiday season.
According to Jessica Stonebarger, they have been wanting to do this for years but they focused on cherries, corn and green beans. But decided this year to try it.
“A couple of years ago we pulled out an orchard of cherries and we haven’t done anything with it. We decided to throw some seeds out there and see what we’d get and we got a lot of pumpkins so we’re rolling with it,” said Stonebarger. “If it’s successful and something we feel like we can build on we’ll start putting some more time and thought into it and become bigger. This year is going to be just pumpkins in a field but we all have ideas of what we’d like it to be eventually.”
