Group Looks to Raise Final $18,000 for Antioch 4th of July Celebration

The newly formed Celebrate Antioch Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is looking to raise the final $18,000 for this year’s July 4 Festivities. They are hosting a fundraiser tonight at Bases Loaded in Antioch from 5-9pm.

The event,  located at 400 G Street, is $25 per dinner. It includes ribs, chicken, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, corn bread and soft beverages. There will also be raffles and entertainment.  To RSVP, Call Joy Motts (925) 813-0036 or Martha Parsons (925) 890-2665.

Last year, an estimated 20,000 people attended the to the festivities which included a parade and fireworks show.  To date, just under $46,000 has been raised.

If you cannot attend tonight’s fundraiser, please consider donating $4 in honor of July 4.

Thanks, Mike!!!! It was a great event with a great crowd!!! Boy has the Bases Loaded food improved with the new owners!!! And, we got to see both Bay Area teams win on the great sports TVs!!! Won a Salami as a raffle prize as well!!! All and all very enjoyable!!!

I’m not in favor of this celebration unless we have the proper amount police to run out to every house that has a neighbor shooting off a gun or trying to light the dry grass in Antioch on fire. We have serious criminals in Antioch and I don’t feel one bit safe with all the police downtown.

That money could have gone to fighting crime. we can’t always live in the now and that is whats wrong with our city. Fight the crime now and enjoy the fruits of labor when we have enough patrol to keep everyone safe.
