ANTIOCH, CA – Grace Bible Fellowship of Antioch presents its first annual Grace Kings Basketball Tournament, August 5th, 6th and 7th of 2016 – the finals of a three-part series.
The third and final series of the year will take place at the Prewett Family Park and Community Center, located at 4701 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA.
The tournament is open to girls and boys ages 6 and up. The tournament bracket includes ages 6 – 8, 9 – 11, 12 – 14, 15 – 17, and 18 and up. The participation fee is $10/player and $100/team (5-on-5).
Richard Ward, the tournament organizer, said “This is an opportunity for me to share my passion for basketball with my church and local community. Our youth need more opportunities like this to keep them engaged in positive, safe and nurturing environment in order to enhance their overall experience in the city of Antioch.”
Debra Vinson, Antioch School Board member, says, “This is exactly the kind of activities our youth deserve and desperately need in our community. As the district borders on financial difficulties, opportunities to supplement extra-curricular activities by partnering with community groups and churches are greatly needed. As a public school system, we need to embrace this as a framework to partner with the community when low-cost and affordable activities for our youth are provided.”
Grace Bible Fellowship in Antioch was birthed over 13 years ago at a hair salon owned by Reverend Kirkland A. Smith and Sister Qwinvander Smith. Grace Bible serves over 1500 members each Saturday and Sunday and countless other ministries designed to meet the needs of the community.
