Friday’s Gun Control Bills: How East County’s State Elected Officials Voted

by ECT

Jerry Brown

With Governor Jerry Brown dealing with 18-gun bills Friday, we wanted to go back and highlight the previous votes of our local State Assemblymembers and Senator in East Contra Costa County.

With all the threats of recalls from gun advocates over the recent string of gun legislation, we wanted to highlight just how those elected officials who are supposed to represent the people voted.

For the 18-bills, we took a look at the votes of the following representatives:

  • Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan (D)
  • Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla (D)
  • Assemblyman Jim Frazier (D)
  • Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D)

Overall Gun Control Records:

Buchanan, Bonilla, and DeSaulnier voted 18-0 on gun legislation bills shown below from Friday. Meanwhile Assemblyman Frazier voted “yes” just 5-times with 11 “no” votes along with two “no record of votes”.

When asked Sunday morning about his no votes of record, Assemblyman Frazier explained they were local bills which would affect both San Francisco and Oakland. He believed that the local government should decide what is best for them on gun control bills, not the state.

Here is a look at Friday’s action taken by the Governor with voting records.

Thank you Assemblyman Frazier for not voting with the trolls of Sacramento.

Yes, thank you Assemblyman Frazier for the thoughtful votes; the other Democrats don’t seem to analyze or think at all.

Thanks Frazier for being more in touch with the general public and the constitution. Thanks for voting independently.

Wow, it’s nice to see fellow second amendment rights supporters, on other local pages, all you see are the anti-gun liberals. We already have enough gun laws here in CA, when will the liberal politicians learn that criminals don’t obey gun laws?

Buy a Clue Oct 14, 2013 - 10:33 am

Cool story, Bro.

But your premise that all Liberals are anti-gun is false. Promoting ignorance like that is a poor way to go through life.

He said “the” liberal politicians and “the” anti-gun liberals. Common grammar indicates that he was only including those politicians who are liberal and are uneducated in the ways of the criminal mind, and “the” anti-gun liberals. Of course there are liberals who are pro-2A, I know several, and shoot with them regularly. Stick that in your hippie liberal pipe and smoke it fool. Oh, and Cool Story Bee-ahhtch.

R I T W,

As usual you see things differently. I read it the same way as B A C. Liberal politicians, like liberal in general. People like you are nothing short of amusing. You lack the ability to self analyze and therefore fail to see why you are always, always in the minority. Life must be difficult for you. Can’t even imagine how you arrive at your comments or get through the day.

BTW, I am pro-gun, pro 2nd amendment and shoot often. It doesn’t change a damn thing.

Glass is always half empty. Life is easy for me, I tend to see the positive in things. You on the other hand must be living in a sad state of negativity and hatred. We all know how you get through the day, by increasing your self worth haranguing people on the internet, along with your alter-egos Buy A Clue and B-Wood. How do you manage to keep track of all your identities anyway?
BTW, I’ll be sure to inform the the police that you are unstable, and should not possess firearms due to your obvious psychological disorders.

Righteous in the ‘Wood,

Relax buddy, its just a difference of opinion. I know its not easy for you but there really is no need for you to make idle threats. Doing so only serves to expose your desperation. It did give me a good laugh though….Is that really what you were going for? Besides, it wouldn’t get you very far except to out yourself. For the record, I shoot often with law enforcement (aka; police) friends.

Life is easy for you? Yep, as they say; “Ignorance is bliss”. You certainly put the “I” in idiot. The irony is most people don’t feel the need to keep demonstrating it. I guess that makes you “special”.

Glad you think you know how I and others get through the day. Consider applying that effort to yourself for a change. Trust me, it’s needed.

Thanks for proving AGAIN that you lack the ability to self analyze. Big surprise….yawn.

Congratulations, your glass is officially empty.

As a life long conservative, I like his voting record on firearm rights issues.

Big Bro ECV are you being an a s s again? Mama said after the head drop at birth you would always be an egotistical lonely person. I doubt you shoot or hang out with anyone that has a brain.
