At roughly 9:10 am Friday, East Contra Costa Crews rushed to a reported structure fire at Hook, Line and Sinker’s Bait Shop at Russo’s Marina which required a total of 17-fire personnel and all five engines.
Engine 94 arrived on scene to find a small building on a floating dock with smoke. The smoke was coming from under the building near the waterline. The fire required an offensive strike by firefighters who had a difficult time with access due the location of the fire and had to cut the floor with chair saws—they had 50+ minutes on the timer.
Once they had access; the fire was put out without incident. This left the building with moderate to heavy fire damage within the floor joist area of the building. Due to access and the waterline, the cause of the fire was “undetermined”.

I didn’t know that little shed was used for anything any more.Wow
[…] you recall, you had a large residential fire destroying a million dollar home in Discovery Bay, a commercial fire at Hook Line & Sinker on Bethel Island, several small vegetation fires along Marsh Creek Road, along with a deadly crash […]
What ever happened to that brand new big dollar fire boat?
What does your comment have to do with this post. Obviously the fire was inside the structure. Fire boats probably don’t work for this type of emergency. Keep posting dummy.
