Firefighters Battling 10-Acre Vegetation Fire in Brentwood


A vegetation fire broke out Monday afternoon in Brentwood according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

The fire was reported just before 1:40 pm in the area of Deer Valley Road and Marsh Creek Road with both East Contra Costa Fire and CALFIRE being dispatch to the scene. Upon arrival, Engine 52 reported a 2-acre vegetation fire.

By 2:01 pm, the fire had grown to 5-acres, however, BC-5 reported they were making good progress towards containment. PG&E was requested as the fire had impacted several PG&E power poles.

As of 2:14 pm, Battalion Chief 5 reported the fire had grown to 10-acres with air support dropping water.


SR-4 & Sand Creek Fire

At 1:55 pm, a second fire was reported along westbound SR-4 at Sand Creek Road. Units from both Oakley and Engine 82 (Antioch) were dispatched. However, upon arrival, firefighters were unable to locate the fire and believed it was the same fire as the Deer Valley & Marsh Creek Road Fire.
