Firefighters Battle Attic Fire in Antioch, Man and Dog Pulled from House

At 6:59 pm Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire in the 2400 block of Carpinteria Drive in the City of Antioch.

It was reported that two children were trapped inside on the second story. Firefighters mobilized for a rescue operation.

By 7:04 pm, Engine 88 arrived on scene with black smoke showing and called it a working fire. AMR reported they had 1 patient with minor injuries. The victim was an older male who was pulled from the house, a dog was also saved.

By 7:07 pm, Engine 88 reported that everyone was out of the home. This was a fire in the upstairs area and were beginning fire attack. This was also determined to be an attic fire.

By 7:30, the fire was deemed out.
