At 1:20 pm Monday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 400 block of H Street off W. Fourth St. in Antioch.
Firefighters arrived on scene to a fully involved home with smoke coming from all windows. Firefighters made entry and located flames on the second story and quickly worked to knock down the blaze. Firefighters quick actions spared the home, but destroyed the second story and damaged the first story with smoke damage throughout the home.
By 1:50 pm the fire was under control.
As of 4:00 pm, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, however, damages are estimated at more than $500,000.
