February 16-22: Antioch Police Briefs

The Antioch Police Department had 1,649 calls for service between February 16-22 according to the City Manager Report.

Of those calls, they made 75 arrests where 25 were felony, 50 were misdemeanor, along with 3 DUI arrests.

 

POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATES

 

  • 2/23/17 at 1:49 am, the reporting party called dispatch to report she was watching two subjects via her surveillance cameras attempting to gain entry into her building in the 3100 block of Lone Tree Wy. Officers responded and quickly established a perimeter. As officers moved in, they saw 39 year old Jacque Watts attempting to pry open the metal security door. 45 year old Monica Esquivel was standing by and appeared to be assisting. Both subjects were detained without incident. Both denied tampering with the door and stated they were just walking through. They were both arrested and booked into County Jail for attempted burglary.

 

  • 2/22/17 at 11:40 pm, 34 year old Yvette Contino was contacted during a traffic stop. She was found to have a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and later released on a signed Promise to Appear with a new court date.

 

  • 2/22/17 at 10:29 am, an officer contacted 39 year old Deon Slaughter for a municipal code violation on Mahogany Wy. near Auto Center Dr. Slaughter was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest. Slaughter was arrested on his warrant and booked into County Jail.

 

  • 2/21/17 at 10:22 pm, a 17 year old male was placed under arrest by Wal-Mart loss prevention agents for shoplifting. The juvenile was uncooperative so an officer was dispatched to Wal-Mart. He was eventually released on a citation to his parents.

 

  • 2/21/17 at 4:29 pm, numerous witnesses called into dispatch to report a big rig ran a red light and struck a minivan on Somersville Rd. near Delta Fair Blvd. Witnesses gave a good description and stated the big rig fled the scene. Another witness advised the big rig was in Pittsburg, but had turned around and was heading back to Antioch. An officer located the big rig on Buchanan Rd. returning to Antioch. The officer witnessed the big rig rear-end another vehicle just prior to making an enforcement stop. 34 year old Adrian Singh was contacted driving the big rig and determined to be extremely intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and sent to County Jail for DUI. None of the victims were injured in the collisions.

 

  • 2/21/17 at 1:53 pm, an officer attempted to stop a gold SUV on A St. near W. Madill St. for vehicle code violations. The driver, 47 year old James Marglin, failed to yield, and a short pursuit ensued. The officer terminated the pursuit for public safety reasons. During an area check for the vehicle, the officer located it parked in the 2400 block of Beasley Ave. Marglin fled from the vehicle on foot westbound on Bryan Ave. and into a nearby backyard. The officer attempted to detain Marglin who resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, Marglin was eventually detained in handcuffs. Marglin was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest for violation of his probation. Marglin was later transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/21/17 at 8:26 am, an officer on routine patrol in the area of Lone Tree Wy. And James Donlon Blvd. located a recently reported stolen vehicle. The driver, 35 year old Maxim Abramov, pulled into the parking lot of Sutter Delta Hospital. Abramov was arrested without incident and admitted to stealing the car earlier in the morning. Abramov was later transported to County Jail on the charge of auto theft.

 

  • 2/20/17 at 10:56 pm, an officer saw a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 2500 block of San Jose Dr. All of the businesses were closed, and the car was occupied by 49 year old Gina Matteucci and 51 year old Gregory Woods. During the contact, the officer saw a baggie of methamphetamine in the car. During a search of Matteucci, she was found to be in possession of more methamphetamine. During a search of Woods, he was found to be in possession of a dagger with metal knuckles attached to it. Matteucci and Woods were arrested without incident. Matteucci was released on a citation and Woods was sent to County Jail on narcotics and weapons charges.

 

  • 2/20/17 at 9:52 pm, an officer contacted 33 year old Maximillon Matson and 53 year old Kelly Lloyd camping outside of Bob Sang Korean Cuisine on Mahogany Wy. There is a no trespassing sign in front of the business. Matson and Lloyd were released on a citation for trespassing and left the area.

 

  • 2/20/17 at 9:03 pm, officers responded to a call of a homeless male setting up camp behind 2213 Buchanan Road. Upon arrival, officers contacted 43 year old Iola Robinson, who had warrants for his arrest. Robinson was issued a Promise to Appear with a new court date, and he left the area.

 

  • 2/20/17 at 5:54 pm, a resident on Nevada Ln. reported two transients had setup camp with boxes and tarps in her carport. Officers contacted 32 year old Jonathan Pearson and his brother, 36 year old Kenneth Pearson. They were placed under citizen’s arrest and issued citations. They were then given a courtesy ride by an officer to their father’s house downtown for shelter.

 

  • 2/20/17 at 8:53 am, an officer was on patrol in the area of K-mart on E. 18th St. when he located a suspicious vehicle. The officer contacted 40 year old Andy Cringle and discovered he was a registered sex offender. Upon further review of Cringle’s terms and conditions, it was discovered that Cringle was out of compliance for failing to register. Cringle was arrested and transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/19/17 at 10:30 pm, an officer saw 57 year old Tony Dawson sleeping on a bench in front of Somersville Carwash on Delta Fair Blvd. There is a trespass letter on file so the officer issued Dawson a citation for trespassing and released him at the scene.
  • 2/19/17 at 9:23 pm, officers were dispatched to Goodwill on W. 10th St., regarding an alarm at the business. Upon arrival, officers contacted 36 year old Amber Adams and 51 year old Anthony Butcher. Both were arrested and released with citations for trespassing.

 

  • 2/19/17 at 7:20 pm, 32 year old Jonathan Pearson and his 36 year old brother Kenneth Pearson were at the Valero Gas Station on Somersville Rd. The Pearsons are not allowed on the property and were recently added to the Trespass Log. The brothers were both placed under arrest. They were each issued a citation and released.

 

  • 2/19/17 at 8:59 am, an officer was on routine patrol in the area of Peppertree Wy. when he located an unoccupied stolen VW Jetta parked in the alleyway on Peppertree Wy. 34 year old Lawrence Wiley approached the officer who was in the process of recovering the vehicle. Wiley told the officer the car belonged to an unknown friend, and Wiley stated he had some of his property inside the car. During a search of Wiley’s person, the officer located suspected methamphetamine in his pants pocket. Wiley was on current felony probation and was arrested without incident. Wiley was later transported to County Jail for possession of narcotics and violation of his probation.

 

  • 2/18/17 at 7:23 pm, officers were at an apartment complex on Sycamore Dr. for an unrelated call for service. An officer observed four juveniles (ages 14, 15, 16, and 17) running through the parking lot. When they saw the officers, the 14 year old ducked behind a parked car and made furtive movements. Officers located a large bottle of vodka and determined the 14 year old had stolen it from his family’s house. His guardian was contacted, and a juvenile citation was issued. All parties were released to an adult at the scene.

 

  • 2/18/17 at 1:24 pm, an officer on routine patrol contacted 50 year old Timothy Jones who was panhandling on the on-ramp to Hwy 4 at Auto Center Dr. During a name check, it was discovered Jones had a misdemeanor bench warrant for narcotic related offenses. Jones was taken into custody without incident and later transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/18/17 at 12:20 pm, an officer was on routine patrol in the area of Mahogany Wy. and Auto Center Dr., when the officer located a reported stolen Chevrolet from Enterprise Rental. The vehicle was driven by 39 year old Jermaine Crudup, who drove into the KFC parking lot. The officers contacted Crudup and detained him without incident. Enterprise Rental was contacted, and the vehicle was several weeks past due. Crudup was transported to County Jail on auto theft charges.

 

  • 2/18/17 at 11:16 am, officers located 36 year old Nathan Banks in the front yard to a residence on Dandelion Cir. The officers were familiar with Banks and knew he had an outstanding felony warrant for evading and weapons violations. Banks fled from the officers by jumping fences throughout the residential neighborhood. The residents in the area kept calling 9-1-1 and provided helpful updates as to Banks’ location. A perimeter was set up, and Banks was eventually detained after a brief struggle with the officers. Banks was later transported to County Jail for resisting arrest and for his outstanding warrant.

 

  • 2/18/17 at 10:39 am, an officer was on routine patrol in the area of W. 19th St. and D St. when he located 48 year old Shane Agness sitting on the curb. The officer was familiar with Agness and knew he had three outstanding warrants for his arrest related to theft and narcotics charges. Agness was taken into custody without incident and later transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/18/17 at 12:23 am, 41 year old Tiare Lake and 36 year old Ramona Supnet were contacted during a traffic stop. Lake was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest and was taken into custody without incident and booked into County Jail.

 

  • 2/17/17 at 6:48 pm, an officer was doing routine patrol on Beasley Ave. near E. Madill St. when he saw a parked vehicle with two occupants. The officer recognized the vehicle and knew that it was reported stolen. 31 year old Ryan Davidson was in the driver seat and 19 year old Bobbiann Lovecchio was in the passenger seat. Both Davidson and Lovecchio were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Davidson was booked into County Jail and Lovecchio was booked at the Antioch PD jail and later released. The vehicle was returned to the owner.

 

  • 2/17/17 at 4:37 pm, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign. The vehicle yielded in the 1300 block of D St. The officer asked if there was anything illegal in the car and a passenger, 23 year old Tino Martinez, stated he had a gun in his waistband. Martinez was searched and found to have a loaded 9mm Glock 17 in his waistband. The gun was found to be registered to Martinez, and he gave a statement that he had the gun for protection. Martinez had no criminal history. The 25 year old male driver and 21 year old female passenger were released at the scene. Martinez was booked at the Antioch PD jail and was released on a citation.

 

  • 2/17/17 at 2:55 am, an officer observed a Ford Mustang cross L St. at 25-30 MPH directly in front of him westbound on W. 6th St. without stopping for the stop sign. As the officer attempted to catch the vehicle, the driver, identified as 33 year old Grant Brown, quickly parked the vehicle along the curb and exited. Brown attempted to flee, but was too intoxicated and fell back onto his car. He was detained and later arrested for DUI. He was transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/16/17 at 10:32 pm, an officer contacted 25 year old Thomas Costa at the Bonfare on W. 10th St. Costa was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance for purpose of sales. Costa was arrested and booked into County Jail.

 

  • 2/16/17 at 10:19 pm, officers were on an unrelated call for service at the Pizza Hut on Contra Loma Blvd. when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot and parked in front of the officers. 45 year old Luis Flores got out of the vehicle and was having a hard time maintaining his balance, and the officers suspected he was DUI. Flores was contacted and determined to be DUI after failing field sobriety tests. He was arrested and later booked into County Jail.

 

  • 2/16/17 at 7:46 pm, an officer attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop on an ATV on L St. at Sycamore Dr. The ATV refused to stop and accelerated to about 45 mph. The officer followed the ATV until it left the roadway and got onto the Contra Costa County Water District path that runs between Contra Loma Blvd. and G St. The officer drove around to G St. and found the ATV and rider stuck at the gate. 20 year old Ruben Cruz was arrested for misdemeanor evasion. The ATV was towed, and Cruz was booked at the Antioch PD Jail and later released with a citation.

 

  • 2/16/17 at 9:37 am, officers were dispatched to Stapleton Dr. after the reporting party advised 26 year old Phillip Moreno had been up for several days, talking to himself and acting strange. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Moreno had fled the residence. An area check was conducted and Moreno was contacted near Buchanan Rd. and Gentrytown Dr. Moreno was found to have a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody without incident. Moreno was transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/16/17 at 9:24 am, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on 37 year old Gregory Eutsey. During the contact, it was discovered Eutsey had a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to County Jail.

 

  • 2/16/17 at 8:26 am, Antioch PD received information that a stolen vehicle was traveling eastbound on Mahogany Wy. from Auto Center Dr. Officers conducted an area check for the vehicle and located it traveling on Mahogany Wy. A high risk stop was conducted after the vehicle yielded near Manzanita Wy. 30 year old Christopher Wilson was taken into custody without incident and transported to County Jail. The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner

The countless alcohol, DUI, drug possession, homeless stories, you can tell that Antioch has a lot of people in need. It’s sad.
