Feb 6: Black History Month Exhibit Opens in Antioch

by ECT

Antioch’s Black History Month Exhibit was created by Rua’h Community Outreach Ministries and Parent Providers Partnering for the Education of Young Children in 2009 with a desire to share the cultural history and struggles of African Americans with the children and parents attending the Rites of Passage Life Skills Training Academy being held at the Rivertown Kid’s Club in Antioch.

The exhibit continued to grow and the location for the past two years is the Nick Rodriguez Community Center, located at 213 F Street, in downtown Antioch.

The 2016 exhibit showcases a timeline of African American history from Africa to the present featuring historical events, creative art, artifacts, and literature that reflect the African American experience in America, to promote dignity and pride in the African American community and provide cross cultural education for the larger community.

exhibit-hours-Black-History-MonthThe exhibit opens with a reception on Saturday, February 6th, from 2-4 PM and continues from February 9th – 19th from 12-5 PM (Tuesdays – Fridays) and Saturday February 13th from 12-5 PM. The final date of the exhibit is Saturday, February 20th from 12-4 PM.

The organizers are offering students an opportunity to earn community service hours and teachers to send their students to the exhibit for extra credit. For more information contact Dr. Carrie Frazier at (925) 787-4827.

The exhibit is a community partnership between Rua’h Community Outreach Ministries, Parent Partners Providing for the Education of Young Children, JTS Art Gallery, City of Antioch and the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch.

I can appreciate the fact that quality is better than quality. I love that this site posts a majority of the news that is East Contra Costa instead of filling a newspaper with useless news from the AP and TMZ.

If black history is so important to the black community then take a moment to learn that the Democratic Party was started by the Klu Klux Klan and the same founding principals that were used back then are still used now; they should also know that the founder of Planned Parenthood started her organization as a means to exterminate black children in utero to limit the black population. This is why PP offices are in predominantly minority neighborhoods.

Also, the vast MAJORITY of Civil Rights Leaders Harriet Tubman and MANY others in history were registered Republicans. This info readily available if you research it

As a follow up to my first post, here is a historical list of Civil Rights leaders who were members of and activately supported the Republican Party:

Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King, Eldridge Cleaver, Fredrick Douglass, James Meredith, Jackie Robinson, and Booker T Washington just to name a few.

Google the name of Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, and discover for yourself that this racist white woman made it her life’s mission to kill as many children as she could and sadly millions of ignorant and uninformed black folks financially and unconditionally support Planned Parenthood and vote for the Democratic Party that has never had your best interest at heart. I guess ignorance is bliss!!

Yawn. Why not a multicultural exhibit from around the world, not just Black?

Way to put one group on a pedestal, Antioch. This town is sickening.
