I’ve seen so many accidents there by Victoria Island!! Was almost involved in one myself!! When will people learn you CANNOT pass on a double yellow line!! I seen a car end up turned upside down in the canal because someone was in a hurry and tried to
Pass on the double yellow line!!

I agree with the previous comments. I personally have been in 2 accidents on this route. Both caused by inconsiderate drivers that left the scene. Not being from California, I cant understand why Cal-Trans didn’t
upgrade the road when Discovery Bay was built. They spend years & millions, fixing an ever growing problem. One would think that a Planner would design the roadways for future accommodations (population growth) Guardrails would be nice, since there is very little shoulder, may prevent people form ending up in the water way. A center divider, more policing, remote cameras, allow the public to upload videos of violaters. These inconsiderate drivers need to be held responsible.

Is the highway open now to discovery-bay?

I have lived in California my whole life and have yet to see Cal Trans plan roads for future growth. Although it wasn’t the truckers fault I wish they would limit the types of trucks, no big rigs only smaller types of trucks. How many times have you been stuck because a big rig couldn’t get across a bridge because of heavy traffic.

I watched a truck hit the corner of the bridge because they didn’t plan for the turn well enough as they were coming Westbound. They passenger had to get out to direct the truck.

Too many trucks on 4. They should have made it 6 lanes. Driving to BART WC everyday is one miserable experience trying to navigate all these stupid trucks that won’t stay in the slow lane doing 45 mph. Even though this accident was in far East County, I can see why the drivers tried to pass the truck. Poor planning for all things moving in East County is the blame. Public Transportation will never be safe here,
