FastSigns Works With Local Business to Increase Visual Appeal

Randy Sabatte of FastSigns in Antioch enjoys getting creative with local business owners while finding ways to help increase visual appeal to the community for business owners.

He says the worst thing that can happen to a business is to be open and have no one know you are there. That is where he comes in to help your business get noticed and remembered.

Located on the corner of Hillcrest and Lone Tree Way in Antioch since 2007, they offer a variety of services from sign making, vehicle wraps, graphic design, interactive digital, amongst many other services.

“We offer solutions for businesses to promote themselves visually which will increase sales. Whether its vehicle, signs, digital displays, its everything about promoting their business,” says  Sabatte. “It is more than a sign company; it’s much more than that. We always hear the line we didn’t know you did that after walking in. The tagline has become more than fast, more than signs because we do so much more.”

In fact, one of the biggest mistakes Sabatte has found in his years in the business by business owners is that when someone is brand new, they rarely create a budget for signs.

“Always leave room in the budget planning for signage and outreach. You spend your entire life savings and grind it for a year or two,” explained Sabatte. “Plan for signage before you open the doors because it’s part of a business.  You can’t communicate your message without a sign.”

He shared that it’s really hard when someone comes in and realize they don’t have the budget to do what they need to be seen. He shared one story where someone had grand visions of signage before reality set in and didn’t have the budget. He shared that they felt bad so they provided a few low cost signs and wished them well.

A few weeks later, the person shared they had increased their business traffic and came back and purchased the signs donated and bought more signage. Sabatte explained that is what they try and do and help people.

Even with limited budgets to those who have hundreds of thousands of dollars, they love consulting business folks on creating better visibility. Still, he has a soft spot for new business and educating them on the process.

“That is our consultative nature about us.  Tell us what your idea is and tell us what you are trying to achieve as a new business. We toss around ideas and get into the discussion on where they are and branding image and help them develop a plan,” said Sabatte. “That is the fun part of the job and helping them a new business grow. We do it in a way that is educational and informative.  We have to price right so that they can come back as they grow and purchase more and grow further.”

His shop offers solutions for any type of business and they use the best equipment and product to ensure long lasting results.

“Whether it’s an apartment complex, hotel, or hospital, we can help them,” said Sabatte. “We will walk a property and give advice on what can work for them all the way down to print to type of sign,” said Sabatte.

He also noted that part of their job is to also know the local sign ordinances and laws to protect their clients from the City visiting their business about code enforcement.  His shop will also help clients walk through the process and help prepared documents for the city.

“We live in the community, we want nice signs too,” said Sabatte. “Lived here for over 35-years and we are part of the community. It’s really fun working with the local business people.
