Fairfield Police Release Photograph of Person of Interest in Homicide Case

On February 21, 2018, at approximately 6:00 am the Fairfield Police Department received a report of a man down in the 1200 block of Empire St.  When officers arrived they located the victim, a 28-year old male, Benicia resident, in the parking lot.  The scene was secured and Fairfield Detectives began an investigation into the homicide.

The investigation so far shows that this was not a random act and that the victim and suspect knew each other.  Police released a photo of a male who they believe may have more information regarding this homicide.  If you see him, do not approach him, and call 9-1-1 or contact your local police agency.

Police are asking that anyone with information regarding this homicide contact the Fairfield Police Department’s Investigations Bureau at 707-428-7600 or by calling the 24-Hr tip line at 707-428-7345.  You may also contact Solano County Crime Stoppers at 707-644-7867 or text TIP FAIRFIELD PD along with your message to 888777.  Callers and texters can remain anonymous.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.  This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
