On August 19th, Fairfield Police Department received information from another law enforcement agency that a 16 year-old female victim of human sex trafficking was in the local area.  Detectives from Fairfield Police Department’s Family Violence Unit began an investigation and located several internet advertisements indicating the child was being commercially sexually exploited.

With the assistance of the department’s Narcotics Unit and Special Operations Team, surveillance was established on a home in the city of American Canyon.

Detectives were able to track the victim, along with an adult male suspect, into the city of Fairfield.  They were taken into custody at a local motel.

The victim was placed into protective custody and transferred to Solano County’s Child Welfare Services.  The suspect, identified as Robert Patterson, a 19 year-old American Canyon resident, was arrested for human trafficking and pimping.  He was booked into the Solano County Jail.

As a result of the investigation, the residence in American Canyon was searched pursuant to a search warrant.  Detective’s located evidence related to the investigation in the home.  Additional information showed this child had been transported throughout the state for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation.
