The El Campanil Theatre in Antioch will be hosting two public performances beginning this evening of the classic Pinocchio. Children from East Contra Costa County will be in the show and Luke Cannon stars as Pinocchio.

Luke Cannon is Pinocchio
Once again the beloved wooden puppet comes to life in this colorful, musical version of Carlo Collodi’s classic. In his quest to experience life as a real boy, Pinocchio falls in with the wrong crowd and has to learn life’s lessons the hard way, with the coaching of his “conscience”, a cricket and the guidance of the Blue and Pink Fairies. His creator, the woodcarver Geppetto, who yearns to be a father to Pinocchio, is devastated by his absence. It’s only after a long journey and a harrowing experience with a whale (and a narrow escape) that Pinocchio is finally reunited with Geppetto and the whole village celebrates.
Pinocchio teaches some valuable lessons and is a fun musical treat for all ages.
