EastCountyToday.net is pleased to announce its “ECT Deals” Program which was launched Thursday morning in an effort to provide value to its readers and local businesses.
The idea is to showcase money-saving deals in the form of coupons. This program will provide exposure for local businesses with the concept is “everyone wins” from the business owner to local consumers.
“The concept is simple,” says ECT. “an email is sent each week to our subscribers who are then provided with coupons which are then available for print or on their phone. The goal is to stimulate the local economy by encouraging residents to shop locally and support local business.”
The program will be built around the newly launched website www.ectcoupons.com and Facebook Page which is aimed at showcasing local deals without breaking the bank for local businesses who want to expose consumers to their goods or services.
In order not to disrupt local news in peoples social media feeds who may not want more information thrown at them, the website www.ectcoupons.com was launched and a separate Facebook page was created.
“We have always provided the news people want to read about, so now we want to work with local business to provide deals our readers want to receive,” said ECT. “It was important we don’t spam everyone with coupons and advertisements on top of our news posts. Between articles and breaking news updates our readers were already getting hit with dozens of updates each day, so spamming them didn’t seem like a good idea. Under this model, those who opt in, in other words want the deals, will get the email or can visit us online at anytime.”
The pilot program will last through December while we get user feedback from both businesses and end users of the coupons.
