At roughly 11:23 pm, Eastbound Highway 4 is at a complete standstill just before the A Street exit in Antioch after a vehicle flipped on its side and a driver was ejected.

As Q83 was responding, they were stuck in traffic and requested additional resources to come from the opposite direction of the highway. It appears a couple of the firefighters got out of the quint and hiked into the location on foot.

At 11:40 pm, crews arrived on scene with no patient having been found at this point in time. About a minute later crews reported they identified the subject on Bautista St. and sleeping on a porch.  The victim appeared to be dazed and did not know his name.  Over radio frequency, there was no reports of injuries or whether he was alone in the vehicle.

It then came over the radio that the man appeared to be pretending not to speak any English, however, Antioch PD knew better and didn’t fall for the trick.

The vehicle is reported to be a white SUV of some type.

At 12:10 am, CHP reported the vehicle began smoking again and requested Q83 back to the scene to put out smoke and potential flames.

At 12:25, it appears they are now letting vehicles through on a single lane.

Photo provided by Airazell Riedlinger who states this was taken as the firefighters were walking to the incident. The second photo was from Jason Hamilton as he passed the accident.

The guy is drunk. Just drove past and saw them doing a sobriety test on him. He had trouble walking straight as far as I can tell. Hopefully no one else was injured.

Now he’s going to John Muir, WC for his injuries.

Thank you for the coverage and the information, but please proofread and fix grammar issues before posting. Very frustrating to read jumble. Thank you

Wow finally I am not the only one appalled by the grammer and spelling of this reporting! Get a real job right?

Grammer? Really Spider-Man? It appears you can’t spell either.

It’s spelled “grammar”.
