Easter-Parade-in-ConcertMarch 29: El Campanil Theatre presents Easter Parade in Concert

Antioch, Calif.  El Campanil Theatre in partnership with award-winning Esses Productions presents Easter Parade in Concert, a cabaret tribute to the songs from the classic holiday film which starred Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.

Presented in intimate Cabaret style, the fresh new revue revisits favorite songs which have endured through generations, including Steppin’ Out With My Baby, Shakin’ the Blues Away,  A Couple of Swells, It Only Happens When I Dance With You, and of course, Easter Parade.  Four popular singers, two dancers, a Narrator to add backstage trivia, and an audience Easter Egg Hunt provide for a fun and memorable Easter Holiday experience for the whole family.

Featuring The World of Webber’s Tielle Baker, along with Bay Area Theater stars Robert Dornaus, Shelby Deans-Flegel, and Tom Deans-Flegel, the show includes special guest dancers Brandon Freeman and Rachel Furst, Narrator Chris Vettel with fun backstage trivia, Music Director Joe Simiele at the piano, and an audience Easter Egg Hunt during intermission.

Easter Parade hit the big screen in 1948, featuring music by Irving Berlin and presenting some of Judy Garland’s and Fred Astaire’s best-known and best-loved songs.  MGM promoted it as “The Happiest Musical Ever Made”, and the film went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Score.  It became the most financially successful picture of both Garland’s and Astaire’s careers, as well as the highest-grossing musical of that year.

This show is part of the El Campanil Theatre’s Cabaret Series, produced and presented in cooperation with Esses Productions.
