Streets of Brentwood egg hunt

The Streets of Brentwood will be hosting a family fun event from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

  • Meet, greet and take selfies with Mr. Flop P. Ears and Miss Lucky
  • *Lucky Egg Hunt for ages 0-2, 3-5, and 6-12
  • Baloon Twisting
  • Face painting
  • Arts and crafts
  • Bunny and chick petting zoo
  • Raffle for parents
  • …and much more!

Event begins promptly at 11:00 am!

*Parents please be advised. All treats inside the eggs are choke hazards and some candies may contain peanuts.

east county little leagueMarch 14: East County Little League Opening Day
East County Little League Opening Day Parade will be held Saturday, March 14th. Come watch over 1,000 participants parade down Main Street into the Civic Center Amphitheater for banner judging and then proceed to Oakley Elementary School Ball Fields for the Opening Day Ceremony, first pitch and vendors booths until 1pm.

The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the corner of Vintage Parkway and Main Street. Main Street will be closed from Vintage Parkway to Norcross Lane, as well as part of Norcross Lane from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. so please plan to take alternate routes during this time.

YMWO will be hosting the first Citizenship Drive of 2015 tomorrow at City Hall starting at 11:00 a.m. YMWO Ambassadors got a refresher training yesterday evening as to how to complete the N‐400 and as of yesterday morning 20 residents were registered.


Brentwood Farmers MarketMarch 14: Brentwood Farmers Market Returns
The Grand Opening of the Brentwood Farmers’ Market on Saturday, March 7, 8am to 12pm, Oak St. and First St. There will be music by Nova, a ribbon cutting ceremony with local officials at 10am, JoJo the Clown and kids’ activities, and a lot more. And new this year – we have expanded around the corner onto Oak St. so check it out. See you there as we enjoy another fresh season! The season will run from March 7, 2015 to November 21, 2015.

Fire Chief Hugh Henderson on behalf of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Board and Staff invite the public to join them for their last open house. It will take place tomorrow, March 14th at the Oakley Fire Station located at 530 O’Hara Avenue from 12-3:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to ask questions that will inform your vote regarding the upcoming benefit assessment.


Antioch ArtsMarch 11- 28: AUSD Art4Schools Middle School Exhibit at the Lynn House Gallery
The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch is proud to present artworks from students from Antioch Middle, Black Diamond and Dallas Ranch Middle Schools beginning March 11th and continuing through March 28th.

The Arts4Schools Program is sponsored by the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch, the City of Antioch and  Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund and Cal Pine Grants from Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover. In addition to sponsoring the gallery exhibit, Supervisor Glover through the Keller Canyon Mitigation Grant, provides $500 to each participating school to be used for art and cultural supplies and educational endeavors.

The Lynn House Gallery is located in the Rivertown District at 809 W. 1st Street, Antioch (across from the AMTRAK Train Station) and is open from 1 – 4 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays during exhibits and admission is free.

A blood drive has been scheduled for March 20-21 from 10:00 to 4:00 pm at the Somerville Towne Center Mall in honor of Matthew Ouimet and Brandon Burnett.

The event will be held inside the Mall near Sears and if you would like to donate a pint of blood, you are encouraged to book an appointment online.  If you cannot donate for any reason, will you bring someone who can? It will only take about an hour.

This event will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 – Sunday, March 22, 2015 (12 – 4:30pm). Taste wines right out of the barrel, meet winemakers and more. Each winery will host a unique experience during barrel tasting weekend including at least 1 barrel sample for each ticket holder. April 11: The New Oakley Library — Run for it!  
The Friends of the Oakley Library are hosting the second annual Book It Run, Saturday April 11, 2015 to promote the building of a new library for Oakley.  There will be a 10K, 5K,  and a 1K Run/Walk around the lake plus a FREE Kids Fun Run Electronic chip timing will be provided by the Freedom High Athletic Department for the 5k and 10k.  A Free T-shirt and medallion will be given to all registered in our 1k, 5k, and 10k before 4/3/2015.  Free books to the first 250 kids entered in the Kids Fun Run.  Sign up for Kids Fun Run at the park on the day of the run before 10:00.  The Kids Fun Run starts at 10:00.
