Antioch, Discovery Bay and Oakley will each be holding major Earth Day events while Bethel Island will be hosting its opening day on the Delta. Check below for details. Events start early so be sure to grab some coffee and head out the door.

Antioch: “Keep Antioch Beautiful Day”
“Keep Antioch Beautiful Day” Citywide Clean Up from 8:30 AM to 11:00 am with a free lunch to volunteers at contra Loma Reservoir Regional Park from 11:30-1PM. Clean up locations include: Prewett Park, Belshaw School, Turner School , Kimball School, Antioch Middle School, City Hall, and Red Caboose on Fulton Shipyard Rd. then all end up at Contra Loma  For more information call 779-6137 email Diane Gibson-Gray at [email protected]

Oakley: Science Week Starts Today
Oakley’s Science week kicks off today a 10:00 am with Earth Day at the Park (Creekside Park). This program is provided by the Friends of Marsh Creek which will have several hands-on activities and booths. The event is scheduled between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Discovery Bay: 2nd Annual Earth Day Event
This is an 11:00 am to 5:00 pm event that closes out with a concern. Enjoy a day checking out local eco-friendly vendors, Kid’s Zone with crafts and games, BBQ and evening concert! The event will occur at the Discovery Bay Community Center, 1601 Discovery Bay Blvd, Discovery Bay, CA

Bethel Island: Opening Day on the Delta
8:30-11:30 AM: Pancake Breakfast at Scout Hall/ Sponsored by the Bethel Island Lions Club/ 8:30a- 11:30a/ $5/ Pancakes, Eggs, Ham, OJ. . a no-host bar will be open for serving Momosa’s, Bloody Mary’s and other beverages. Starting at 10:30 am, the SJYC will hold a continental breakfast followed by a parade at starting at 12:00 pm
