East Contra Costa Fire to Host Series of Open Houses

At 9:00 am Sunday, residents served by the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District will be able to visit fire stations and learn more about the District.

The kid friendly event will allow youths to tour the fire station, explore the fire engine, learn about home safety. Youths will also be able to try on firefighter gear.

According to the District, this event is designed to allow the community to meet local firefighters and see what they do at a fire station. Smokey the Bear will also make an appearance.

As part of the open houses, youths between the ages of 5-13 can enter to win “Fire Chief for the day” contest where they will shadow Chief Henderson for a portion of the day to see how the fire district operates.

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District covers 250-square miles and serves the communities of Brentwood, Oakley, Discovery Bay, Bethel Island, Byron, Knightsen, Morgan Territory and Marsh Creek.

October 9 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Station 93 located at 530 O’Hara Avenue, Oakley

October 15 from 9:00 am to 11:0 am
Station 52 located at 201 John Muir Parkway, Brentwood

October 16 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Station 59 located at 1685 Bixler Road, Discovery Bay

October 16 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Station 94 located at 15 A Street, Knightsen
