East Contra Costa Fire Explains 9-1-1 Reporting Procedures

If a fire or other emergency happens to you, do you know how to report it? In an emergency, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District reminds you to dial 9-1-1.

When you report an emergency, speak slowly and clearly to the dispatcher: give the type of emergency, the address, nearest cross street and the telephone number you are calling from. Be sure to give clear, concise directions to the scene.

It may be necessary for you to direct firefighter’s and other emergency vehicles to the scene. Remember, dial 9-1-1 in an emergency only!
