At 11:13 am Monday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the 1400 block of Willow Lake Road in the Town of Discovery Bay for a report of a house on fire.
Engine 59, while responding, reported a large column of black smoke showing from a few miles away and when they arrived on scene determined that this was a working structure fire.
Firefighters battled the fully involved working fire for about 40-minutes before knocking it down.
As of 12:07 pm, they were in overhaul and the home was a complete loss. A fire investigator was requested to the scene.
