East Contra Costa County Ceasefire Event Set for August 4 in Antioch

by ECT

On Saturday, August 4 at 6:00 pm, the community is invited to participate with law enforcement and community members in an effort to reduce gun violence in our communities of Antioch, Brentwood, Concord, Oakley and Pittsburg.

The goal is to link people who are at risk to services that help make smart decisions. Members of the community, clergy and stakeholders are encouraged to join us at the ceasefire.

The presentation includes commentary by an Antioch Police Captain; a Victim Impact statement from someone who has been affected by gun violence; the testimony of a former gang member; faith leaders and other community members. Following the speaker’s presentation, there will be a community led night walk.

Lets shed some light on the district 9 court second amendment ruling that just happened in hawaii. Apparently there is a possibility that open carry is now legal in california which is great!
