On Wednesday, October 11 the Bay Area Air Quality Management District issued a Health Advisory and Spare the Air Alert for the Bay Area related to smoke from the wildfires in the North Bay. The Health Advisory and Spare the Air Alert has been extended through the weekend.
According to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District “Very unhealthy air quality from the wildfires in the North Bay is causing unprecedented levels of air pollution throughout the Bay Area.”
The East Bay Regional Park District is recommending residents avoid or severely limit outdoor activity this weekend. Refunds are being offered for all scheduled events and gatherings.
Regional parks will remain open this weekend. Air quality will be monitored closely.
