The City of Brentwood will begin to spread holiday cheer with its first ice rink set to open in the downtown area thanks to the vision of Got a Party owner Tom Gregory on November 18.
Brentwood On Ice , will be open from November 18 through January 7, 2018 and is located at 739 Second Street. The 4,000 square foot rink will also have a snack bar with food and beverages onsite and party rooms are available. The rink will also feature daily promotions
According to Gregory, he has had a dream to open an ice rink for a while and considers this a dream come true for not only him, but the community.
“Years ago I wanted to bring one to Brentwood and another local couple beat me to it and had a large Ice Rink at The Streets of Brentwood. It seems to do well and everyone that went loved it,” said Gregory.” In August of last year I decided I was going to move ahead with mine and not worry about another Rink opening up. I decided that Downtown Brentwood would be a great location and help the local merchants with a little kick in their Holiday business.”
Gregory says as a long time Brentwood resident, he bleeds Brentwood and will do what he can to make the community better, even if the costs a little bit of money.
“My friend always ask me the same question on the ice rink on whether or not I will make money on it?” explained Gregory. “I would love to make money on this project but for now I hope to bring a wonderful Holiday experience to Downtown and just hope not to go bankrupt doing it”.
The project is anticipated to cost around $250,000 and has a 3-year lease on the location. He also credited the City of Brentwood for seeing the potential and benefit to the community. The City ultimately kicked in a $28,700 grant to help with expenses.
Parking is available in the City of Brentwood parking garage along with bathrooms at the community center or porta potty’s onsite. Lockers may be rented for $3 and typically hold a couple of pairs of shoes, a medium-size handbag and a few small purchases.

The rink is also available for birthday party’s at $250 for 2-hours. Parties include tent area with table, chairs, and a party host to greet the group and assist with setup. Fee includes admission/skating for 10 skaters; $11 for each additional skating guest. Tent Area Reserved with Table and Chairs. Non-skaters are welcome to join the party at no charge! All birthday parties are held during Public Skating hours. Please note: Maximum of 32 guests in one party area at a time. For Party Events larger than 32, two booked party areas are required.
