Discovery Bay Vegetation Fire Burns 8-Acres Monday Evening

At 5:51pm Monday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of smoke coming from the area of Bixler Road and Point of Timber in Discovery Bay.

Upon further investigation, they located the fire off Senaca Circle and South Lakefront Loop in Discovery Bay and arrived to vegetation fire about a quarter of an acre large which posed no threat to any homes.

The fire grew to 3-acres of grass with a flat slope and slow spread due to the terrain hazards. In total, 8 acres burned with no injuries. The cause of the fire was undetermined.

Crews were on scene for 5-hours and 31-minutes.
