Discovery Bay Family Displaced After PG&E Meters Catch Fire

by ECT

On Monday, a Discovery Bay family was displaced from their home after a residential structure fire was reported at 5:00 am in the 4000 block of Pelican Court in the town of Discovery Bay.

According to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District, Engine 59 arrived on scene to locate an exterior fire next to the residential PG&E electric and natural gas meters of the home. It was advised that there was a natural gas leak at the PG&E gas meter.

Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez reported fire personnel were able to extinguish the exterior fire without preventing extension further into the home.  PG&E arrived on scene and secured the electric and natural gas meters.

The fire caused heavy damage to the exterior and interior wall areas of the residence where the PG&E meters were located while heat and smoke intrusion into the attic area.

The cause of the fire was not determined by the fire District. No injuries were reported.

How is PG&E not bankrupt by now? Oh ya, they pass the expenses from all the lawsuits on to the consumers, total bullshit!
