Update: PG&E Gas Outage Could Last 36-hours, Warming Stations Being Mobilized

Nearly 4,200 PG&E customers in the Town of Discovery Bay are without gas Sunday morning after an outage was reported at 9:47 am. As of 10:30, PG&E is still investigating the cause and assessing the locations impacted

Per reports, the Town of Byron is also impacted.

PG&E did say they have an estimated restoration time of 1:15pm

3:00 pm Update

According to Contra Costa County Board of Supervisor Mary Piepho, the PG&E gas outage is expected to last up to 36-hours, already in existence since early this morning, that is affecting thousands of citizens in Discovery Bay.  This outage is now expected to last till tomorrow evening under current estimates.

The County is currently working on an alert and Red Cross is being contacted to assist if needed for heat assistance or warming shelters for seniors or those with infants and/or small children.

3:10 pm Update

PG&E confirmed that in order to make the necessary repairs, they needed to temporarily suspend gas service to approximately 6,200 customers in the Discovery Bay Area with an estimated restoration timeline of Monday evening.

PG&E is working to restore gas service safely and quickly as possible.
