DeSaulnier, Grayson Issue Statements Regarding Proposal for Detention Centers in Concord

by ECT

US Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) and California State Assemblyman Tim Grayson (D-Concord) issued statements regarding news that the U.S. Navy is proposing to construct detention centers for immigrants in California including a camp for as many as 47,000 immigrants at the former Naval Weapons Station in Concord.

“STOP! The Administration needs to take a time out. This is no way to effectuate intelligent immigration policy, including for those seeking asylum. This is absolute madness and I oppose it wholeheartedly. If the Administration wants to have a rational dialogue about fixing our immigration system, I am happy to do that, but making up immigration policy on the fly is just wrong. We will fight this in every way we can.” — said Desaulnier.

Assemblyman Grayson posted the following statement:

Concord’s motto is “Where Families Come First,” and this is an attitude that is championed throughout our communities. It is a disgrace that the Trump administration is treating families fleeing violence as criminals and prisoners instead of as people desperately searching for a better life. Housing thousands of immigrant families in a makeshift detention center on the Concord Naval Weapons Station, or anywhere, is not acceptable. I will fight against this and the cruel treatment of immigrants in any way that I can, and I call on the president to work with Congress to enact a thoughtful and humane immigration policy that truly represents this nation’s values. — Grayson

You both are a bunch if Liberal hacks. Typical partisan politics from the democrats. Go over the top about these immigration policies that have been in place since 1997 Flores case and have seen 4 presidencies now, only to now freak out about it being that Trump is in office. Wasn’t even a week ago Desauliner was issuing a statement about how horrible the people trying to enter the US were being treated, but now that they is a shift to bring the problem to his door step, all of the sudden he wants to fight a potential solution which brings the illegals coming here.

Both of you politicians are hacks and need to get voted out….

The city of Concord is a cesspool of
Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. If the government did what they are wanting to do, would it surprise anyone really? The city will reap what it sows.

Revelation 16:19
The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.

Revelation 16:20
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

This “poem” did not arrive with the Statue of Liberty. It composed by the communist Emma Lazarus. It was engraved at the base of the statue in 1909! The ONLY reason it was there was as part of raising money for the base. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to celebrate FREEDOM, not immigration.

Forget the republican trolls above. We are still a community of people who care about each other and a harm to one is a harm to all. We will not stand for these horrific tactics in our county. D an B, you are a minority and no matter how vile you are on the computer, you really dont count. You are marginalizing others because you have no better status in life than to pick on people, and show your lack of moral compass.

Kc Jun 23, 2018 - 9:46 pm

Wow! Did you just type out “you are a minority…you really don’t count”? Do you even understand what you are saying??
Do any of you have any intelligent idea as to what to do with all these people being held? Its easy to say “not here” instead of opening your arms and your community to help. Hypocrites!

I love how you classify us as trolls, simply because our opinion differs from yours. You are everything that embodies the probelm in todays soft pansy society and especially the downfall of this once great state. Nothing but Hurt feelings and demands for PC for your tender ears.

I provided facts which shows that the local politicians have no spine with their conflicting statements/opinions which have now magically changed with regards to these “poor illegals” and both (Grayson/Desauliner) are doing nothing but serving their own Agenda. Then you accuse me of having “no moral compass.” Nice try. Try doing a bit if research before entering an adult conversation.

Cher, how many illegals and / or homeless have you invited in your house? How many food banks have you volunteered for? Hypocrites are a dime a dozen. Reality is what you are ignorant of.

When America fails to deter all who wish to walk into our Nation, you get a crisis these two politicians want to ignore. “STOP” supporting policies that encourage a mass migration to our country and you will not face having to house 47,000 aliens needing to be housed while waiting for their turn with an immigration lawyer and judge to decide their destiny.

Good Luck to both of you. We have seen Trump gets exactly what he wants. I read yesterday this weapons station thing has been in the works since 2016. Really? Where have you two been?

These two idiots always come out after the fact

Michael Jun 26, 2018 - 11:18 am

The station was in the works to get cleared for civilian development not to build a temporary concentration camp.
