Pittsburg, CA – Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Oakley), Assemblymember Susan Bonilla (D-Concord), and Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord) encourage locals to participate in a Covered California Workshop on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Pittsburg High School.

There are nearly 126,000 people in Contra Costa County who aren’t insured, either because they can’t get insurance through work, they’ve been denied coverage because of a pre-existing medical condition, or the premiums are so high they simply cannot afford it.

If you’re uninsured or self-insured and paying too much for your premiums, help has finally arrived.

This workshop will provide information about Covered California, and will assist participants in comparing plans and purchasing private health insurance. In Contra Costa County, consumers can choose from one of five affordable, brand-name choices: Blue Shield, Kaiser Permanente, Contra Costa Health Plan, Anthem, and Health Net; the option for enrollment in expanded Medi-Cal service is also available.

Admission to the event is free, but RSVP’s are encouraged to 925-778-5790. For more information on Covered California, please visit www.CoveredCA.com.
