Contra Costa Sheriff Investigating Two Bay Point Homicides on Thanksgiving Day

On Thursday morning at about 8:47, Muir Station deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a report of a shooting at a residence on Mountain View Avenue in Bay Point.

Deputies arrived on scene where they located a shooting victim and detained one person. Deputies immediately performed life-saving measures on the victim. The fire department and an ambulance arrived on scene. The victim was later pronounced deceased. The 62-year-old Bay Point resident is not being identified at this time.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit and crime lab staff arrived on scene.

After interviewing the person who was detained, detectives booked him into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF) for murder. He is identified as 63-year-old Donald Robbins of Bay Point. He currently remains in custody at MDF.

According to the Sheriffs Office, they are investigating a separate homicide that occurred later in the afternoon, those details have not yet been released.
