Contra Costa District Attorney’s Association Endorses Barr for Supervisor

by ECT

On July 14, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Association announced their endorsement of Steve Barr for County Supervisor, District 3.

The District Attorney’s Association represents more than 75 Deputy D.A.’s who serve our community as prosecutors in the District Attorney’s Office.

Aron DeFerrari, the group’s President, said the decision came down to Steve’s direct and open style, as well as his financial skills.

“Steve is very honest and tells you exactly how it is,” said DeFerrari. “We don’t always agree on everything, but we think his direct and open style is going to make him a great partner as we work on a lot of tough public safety issues.”

Deferrari added, “Having a small business owner who understands finances and has a track record of using public money responsibly was also very attractive to us. We don’t have unlimited resources and need leaders who can make sure our public safety officers and prosecutors have enough money to do their jobs effectively. Steve Barr has our full trust.”

Barr said the endorsement was great news. “Their vote of confidence in me means a lot, and the role prosecutor’s play in the County is vital. I really look forward to working with them throughout this campaign and beyond.”

Barr, who was the top vote getter in the primary, is currently in a runoff elect that will be held on November 8. As a Brentwood Councilman, he made public safety a top priority and his campaign already has the support of the Brentwood Police Officer’s Association.

Voters are not impressed with union endorsements for county positions.

Of course unions want people like Barr that they can control. They know a stooge when they see one.

Barr has a horrible track record when it comes to handling the public’s money. Remember, he is the politician that gave himself and the Mayor over a 50 percent raise! All funded with the public’s money.

Need I say more?

Barr is the worst candidate EVER! The Association is nothing more than a union labor group who hopes their title will confuse the public into thinking this is support from the D.A. It isn’t.

Steve is a nice guy, but a lousy leader. Just look at what he has done while on the city council for Brenwood and his two stints on the Fire Board. He has done nothing but warm the bench and take some really poor positions. Ask anyone what his accomplishments are and you will get the same blank stare that Steve gives off. Poor choice, poor candidate and as usual “Unome” has it ass backwards. Typical.

How fitting. . . I think Mr. Barrs biggest accomplishment is putting up that sign! That picture is worth a thousand words. Probably paid for with the obscene raise he gave himself on the city council. It’s no wonder he is smiling. He is in the same boat as Wade Harper.

Time for voters to take out the trash this November.

Disregard the negative people and lets vote in Barr to get East County back to the representation it deserves. Protect Ag and keep runaway growth controlled. I’m voting Barr all the way.

@ grape farmer. You need to look at politicians records if you are going to make (false) statements about Protecting AG and preventing runaway growth.

Mary Piepho who’s seat is up for election is endorsing Diane Burgis. Mary has done more for AG than the last 20 Supervisors before her. Check her record.

On the other hand Steve Barr is one of the most PRO growth politicians in the area. He has approved hundreds of homes and endorsed and backed ne of the largest growth measures in Brentwood which attempted to break the urban limit line. Check his record.

Educate yourself on the issues. Once you do you will cast an educated vote and rest assured it won’t be for Barr.
