Candidates who are in a tight race will have to wait a little longer to see if they are the winner after the Contra Costa County Elections Office announced Wednesday that there are more votes to be counted.

In total, there are 82,000 Vote-by-Mail ballots to be counted along with 13,000 Provisionals for a total of nearly 95,000.

On Friday, November 7, they hope to announce the updated results with about 70,000 of the voted tallied.

Joe Canciamilla,

County Clerk/Recorder-Registar of Voters, shared that voter turnout was around 48% in Contra Costa County.
