Contra Costa Animal Services Seeking Information About Deceased Dog Found in Contra Costa Canal

by ECT

Martinez, CA – Contra Costa Animal Services (CCAS) is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding a dog that was found deceased in the Contra Costa Canal Wednesday evening.

The deceased dog, a small brown terrier weighing approximately 15lbs, was found floating in the canal, tethered to a crate, near Medburn Rd in the unincorporated community of Clyde.

The carrier was covered in a green nylon cover (see above)

CCAS is seeking information from anyone with information about this dog or it’s owners. People with knowledge about this case, the dog, or it’s owners can email [email protected].

“This is a very sad and unfortunate turn of events, naturally our first concern is being able to identify this dog’s owners so we can notify them that we have found their pet deceased,” says CCAS Captain, Jane Andreotti. “We would also like to learn as much as we can to determine the course of events leading up to the dog’s death.”

For more information, contact Contra Costa County Animal Services’ Media and Community Relations Manager Steve Burdo at 925-393-6836, or by email at [email protected].
