At 3:14 pm, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a vegetation fire on W. 10th Street near Willow Pass Road.
Upon arrival, Engine 85 requested a full vegetation response and the dozer as crews reported 1-to-2 acres of grass and brush on fire. There was also a safety warning issued to fire crews as the fire was located under power lines.
By 3:52 pm, CONFIRE upgraded the blaze to a 2nd alarm with crews coming from Oakley and Brentwood.
By 4:00 pm: CONFIRE inquired about a helicopter being available for bucket drops.
By 4:08 pm, units were informed no air support was available.
By 4:09: units requested for trains to be stopped in the area.
By 4:45: Fire was upgraded to a third alarm response.
By 8:45: Engines 52, 94 and BC5 were released from the incident.
