Concord: Suspect Charged With Murder in Suspicious Death Investigation

The Concord Police Department announced today that the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office charged Ever Linares, 33 years old, with murder and other associated charges, related to the death of Loreto Reyes, 66 years old.

On May 6, 2017, at about 9:00 AM, a Concord Police officer was flagged down by a woman reporting a possible dead body in the area of Willow Pass Rd. and Market St. The officer checked the area and found Loreto Reyes deceased.

Detectives were called out to assist with the investigation and determined Reyes was a
homicide victim. During the investigation, Concord Police detectives identified Linares as the
suspect and he was arrested by Concord Police officers the following morning.

Linares remains in-custody and his bail was set at $1,085,000.
