Concord Police Release Sketch of Attempted Kidnapping Suspect

by ECT

The Concord Police Department – Special Victims Unit has released a sketch of an attempted kidnapping suspect and is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect.

On Thursday July 6th at about 2:45 PM, a 16 year-old girl was walking alone on Laguna St. near Ellis St. The suspect drove by in a 4-door gold or beige American sedan (similar to a 2000 Buick LeSabre) and parked the car.

The suspect (Hispanic male adult, 5’8”, 160 lbs, unshaven and wearing glasses) got out of the car and walked up to the girl. He started to speak with the girl, grabbed onto her arms, and tried to pull her toward his car. The girl fought back by kicking and punching the suspect, and he eventually let her go.

The suspect fled the area toward Detroit Ave. The girl ran home, told her parents, and they called the police to report the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident or similar incidents is asked to contact the Special Victims Unit at (925) 671-3020.
