Concord Police Identify Two Suspects in Fatal Shooting of Teenager

by ECT

The Concord Police Department identified two of the five suspects arrested in a November 6 murder of a 17-year-old student near Olympic High School on Salvio St in the City of Concord.

Concord Police Detectives on Wednesday presented this murder case to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office and the following charges were filed:

  • Kristhiam Uceda, a 20-year old Concord resident, was charged with murder.
  • Bryan Sermeno-Chachagua, an 18-year old Concord resident, was charged with hiding the gun after the shooting.

Police did not identify three suspects due to their ages:

– A 17-year old Concord male was charged with murder for driving the involved car
– Another 17-year old Concord male was charged with hiding the gun after the shooting
– No charges were filed at this time against a 5th male juvenile.

The shooting occurred Monday at 1:32 pm near Olympic High School, at the corner of Salvio Street and Beach Street where police say that after school let out for the day, a passenger in an unknown black sedan, exited the suspect vehicle and approached a group of individuals off campus. The suspect shot at one of the individuals, as the others ran for safety. The victim ran onto the campus of Olympic High School where he was medically treated by staff, paramedics and police. There are no other injured people. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later passed.

On Tuesday, Concord Police announced the arrest of five people in the murder of 17-year-old Lawrence Janson stated Lt. Nick Gartner. Janson was walking with his friends at the time of the shooting.

Gartner stated during a press conference that through the investigation, they developed several leads and surveillance that resulted in the arrest of 5 people—including the shooter who was an adult.

All five people, who are from Concord, are going to be booked under the charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

“We have also recovered the murder weapon, which is a hand gun and the vehicle that drove to and away from the homicide,” said Gartner. “Our work is not done and there is much more work to do.”

The motive in the shooting is still not known and being investigated according to Gartner and explained they are working hard to uncover that.  He also said no one in this case at this time was a documented gang-member.

“We believe Lawrence was targeted, so there is some connection there that led to the shooting,” explained Gartner. ”The exact relationship and how long it’s happened is still under investigation.”

The Concord Police Department is not releasing further details at this time, due to the ongoing investigation.

They have sanctuary status in this state. They will be out in no time. It’s the California way.

Funny how you say it’s a California thing. The wealthy, politicians, people in law enforcement and their collective nepotistic families are protected NATIONWIDE. Just man up and say your racist epithets instead of hiding behind the California blanket statement.

Everything is racist when it’s the truth buddy. Look at you defending your fellow murderers.

I don’t care, be racist, at least be honest about it instead of trying to beat around the bush. Thanks for avoiding my actual argument.

Dimitri – EVERYTHING is a racial issue to you. You’re a victim of your own oppressed mindset. You have nobody to blame but yourself. You’re defending MURDERERS. Get a life.

Just because you’re not a “documented gang member” doesn’t mean they’re not gang members. It’s gang or drug related. Or both. Words were exchanged and he was targeted. He burned somebody.

“No charges were filed at this time against a 5th male juvenile” then the article says “All five people, who are from Concord, are going to be booked under the charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder”?? hang ’em all!

When you glorify violence, this is what happens.

What’s this crap about not giving the names of the “juvenile” punks who were part of this killing? It’s high time this changed! Their names should be revealed no matter what age they are. What is wrong with this country? Murder is MURDER.. no matter who commits it and who is involved.
