At 2:43 pm Friday, Contra Costa County Firefighters responded to a plane crash that landed in the intersection of Solano Way and Marsh Drive near Buchanan Airfield in Concord.

According to radio traffic, the single occupant of the plane was down in the roadway after a hard landing and was transported to a local hospital. Firefighters were standing by as of 3:30 pm for fuel removal.
As of 3:40 pm, the roadways in the area are closed.
