Concord Man Arrested in Martinez Chase Bank Robbery

On Thursday, June 21, at 12:20 pm, an employee from the Chase Bank located at 4021 Alhambra Avenue, called MPD Dispatch to report a robbery in progress. The employee told Dispatch that a male who was currently in the bank handed another bank employee a note demanding money indicating the incident was a robbery. MPD Dispatch also simultaneously took a call regarding a “hold up” alarm from that same bank.a” hold up” alarm from that same bank

While the employee was on the line with Dispatch, the teller who was handed the note cooperated and gave money to the suspect. During this time, officers arrived and were able to take the suspect into custody without incident. The money and the note were recovered at the scene.

The suspect was identified as 53-year-old Herman Lee Alexander of Concord, Ca. Alexander was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for robbery and held on $100,000 bail. No photo is available at this time.
