Claudette Staton Announces Brentwood City Council Run

Claudette Staton, a Brentwood City Planning Commissioner, a small business owner and founder of an active nonprofit organization, has announced she will be a candidate for the Brentwood City Council this fall.

“I am committed to helping build a better Brentwood. Our residents need more economic development which creates jobs and careers here in Far East Contra Costa County,” said Staton.

Staton says she looks forward to talking with Brentwood residents regarding matters such as Brentwood public safety, student education and economic development.

Staton has been resident of Brentwood since 2003 and was appointed to the Brentwood Planning Commission in 2015.  Claudette Staton and her husband Johnny are owners of Key Realty and founders of the International Orphan Relief Foundation a non-profit which provide new children pajamas, food gift cards, toys and children books during Christmas holiday to families in Brentwood and surrounding areas.

Claudette Staton has served 10 years on the Brentwood Advisory Neighborhood Committee (BANC) which bring neighbors and neighborhood together with such popular events as: Home of the Season, Bark in the Park Dog Parade, and the official City of Brentwood Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Bringing people together in an atmosphere of joy and friendship improving the overall quality of life in Brentwood is what Claudette Staton is all about.

Claudette’s knowledge of the community, her leadership skills and her willingness to give her time and talent to benefit the whole community make her an ideal candidate to serve on the Brentwood City Council. She believes in doing whatever it takes to ensure the health, welfare and protection of Brentwood’s citizens.

As a dedicated Council Member, Claudette Staton promises to focus her energy, passion and experience on making Brentwood an even better place to call home .


Brentwood will have two open seats this fall after City Council members Gene Clare and Erick Stonebarger have both announced they will not seek re-election this fall.

John Fink and Karen Rarey have each already announced their intentions to run for City Council.
