City of Brentwood Announces Opening of Cooling Stations

The City of Brentwood has announced that cooling stations will be available to the public during regular operating hours after the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning from September 1-4 .

There is a potential for heat related illness for sensitive groups, specifically the elderly, children and those who are ill. Livestock and pets may also be impacted by the heat. Stay hydrated and schedule outdoor activities during the morning hours.

The Brentwood Community Center and the Senior Center are designated as cooling centers during the summer months.

They are open as cooling centers during regular operating hours:

  • Community Center
    M-F, 8am – 5pm
    35 Oak Street
  • Senior Center
    M-TH, 9am – 4pm
    9am -3pm on Friday.
    195 Griffith Lane

With the extreme heat conditions forecast for Friday and Saturday, in addition to the times previously listed, the Senior Center will remain open to 5pm on Friday, September 1 and also be open on Saturday, September 2, from 11am to 5pm.
