by ECT

The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in a fatal hit and run crash that occurred in San Pablo on Tuesday evening.

According to CHP, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle on San Pablo Avenue, just west of the popular Bay Area restaurant ‘The Deadfish.’ At approximately 7:21 PM, CHP received a call of a collision involving a bicyclist and a truck that fled the scene on westbound San Pablo Avenue, just west of Merchant Street by the Deadfish restaurant and continued west towards the city of Rodeo.

The bicyclist died on scene and the driver of the vehicle fled.

CHP says they have very limited information say the suspect vehicle is described as an older compact pick up truck that was possibly blue in color and should have collision damage to the front or right front area of the truck.

If anyone witnessed this collision or was in the area at the time or has any information to provide, please contact Contra Costa CHP in Martinez, 925-646-4980, and request to leave a message or information regarding this investigation.
