by ECT

The California Highway Patrol reported Sunday morning that officers responded to two separate accidents early Sunday morning which left one person dead and two others with major injuries.

Marsh Creek Road:
Early this morning, at approximately 1:25 AM, a 21 year old motorcyclist from Clayton was heading east on Marsh Creek Road, west of Morgan Territory at an unknown rate of speed. For yet to be determined reasons, the motorcyclist allowed his 2003 Suzuki GSX-R759 to travel off of the paved roadway, where it collided with a posted regulatory sign.

Unfortunately, the driver was ejected from his motorcycle as a result of this impact, and succumbed to his injuries at the collision scene. As of 7:36 AM, the family of the driver could not be reached and therefore has not been notified of his passing. No other vehicles appear to have been involved.

This traffic collision is still pending further investigation and anyone who may have witnessed this collision or the events leading up to it are asked to please contact CHP – Contra Costa at 925.646.4980.

Kirker Pass

At approximately 2:59 AM, a 1997 Honda Civic being driven by a 37 year old female, veered off the roadway of southbound Kirker Pass Road, south of Hess Road, traveled through a barbwire fence, and down a steep embankment.

The driver and her 42 year old male passenger sustained major injuries as a result of this crash. It’s unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this collision.

Gotta be careful with those donor-cycles. 21 years old and doing tricks at high speed? that’s not a safe decision.
