CHP-Contra Costa Looking for Senior Volunteers

by ECT

MARTINEZ, CA – The citizens of Contra Costa County have been given a gift. The gift comes in the form of 18 extremely active and dedicated seniors that want to give back to their community.

They provide a visual presence around local school zones to keep our kids safe. They assist in the instruction of traffic safety programs, they help maintain patrol vehicles, they keep our mission critical equipment operating, and they help process essential paperwork. They are our unsung heroes who give so selflessly so that others can live in a safer world.

They never ask for accolades, instead they feel rewarded by the knowledge they are making a difference. They no longer have to work for a living, yet they feel the calling to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Their reward lies in their labor; they are the closely knit men and women of the Senior Volunteer Program at the California Highway Patrol, Contra Costa Area Office.

On behalf of the citizens of Contra Costa County and the California Highway Patrol we say thank you for your thousands of hours of voluntary service to our great community.
